Senior Software Engineer (TypeScript)
A senior product engineering role in a UK fintech, working across a customer-facing platform with a small, mature engineering team.
The role
Our client is a UK financial technology business with an established product and a clear plan for its next stage of growth. The engineering team is large enough to have real structure, but small enough that senior engineers still shape architecture and product decisions.
You will work across the core platform, with a focus on service design, reliability and the interfaces used by customers and internal operations teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain services across the platform.
- Lead technical decisions within a small product team.
- Improve observability, deployment safety and operational resilience.
- Review code and support the development of less experienced engineers.
- Work closely with product, design and operations colleagues.
What we are looking for
- Substantial commercial experience building production web services.
- Strong TypeScript or a similar server-side language.
- Practical experience with relational databases and API design.
- A calm, considered approach to technical trade-offs.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
What is on offer
- Base salary of £85,000–£100,000 depending on experience.
- Hybrid working with two days per week in central London.
