Data Engineer (Snowflake/dbt)

A data engineering role in a financial services group building a modern analytics platform for finance, risk and product teams.

The role

Our client is a financial services group with a large data estate and a clear mandate to make it easier to use. The data team is rebuilding its analytics platform around Snowflake and dbt, with a focus on quality, documentation and trust.

You will work with analysts, data scientists and finance teams to build datasets that people can rely on.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain data models in Snowflake and dbt.
  • Design and operate reliable ingestion pipelines.
  • Improve data quality, testing and documentation.
  • Work with finance and risk teams to define metrics and definitions.
  • Support the migration of legacy reporting into the new platform.

What we are looking for

  • Strong SQL and practical experience with Snowflake or a comparable warehouse.
  • Experience with dbt or a similar transformation tool.
  • A good understanding of data modelling and testing.
  • Experience in a regulated environment is useful but not essential.
  • Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders.

What is on offer

  • Base salary of £70,000–£85,000.
  • Hybrid working with two days per week in Manchester.
